Why Habit Technologies?
Because 70% of change initiatives FAIL.

The failure to make change and to make change last occurs in every type of personal, professional, and organizational development. The current approaches to development just don't work.

So we decided to do something different. We built technology to take on problems with development and change; we built a way for people to form lasting, strong habits. We made it possible for coaches, consultants, speakers, trainers, and pretty much anyone who wants to help others grow and develop, to make change a habit.

Our mission

Our mission is simple--we want to bring out the best in people. And we believe we can do it by building awesome tools that facilitate real change and help people form lasting, positive habits.

In short, we are going to make the world a better place by helping people reach their full potential through the power of habit.

Why habits?

It's a great question. I'm glad we asked it. ;)

While there are many reasons to focus on habits, there are two that stand out.

First, the professional development industry is largely failing. Stanford Business Professor Dr. Jeffrey Pfeffer summarizes this trend nicely: "Despite the tens of billions of dollars we pour into training-related books, attendance at inspirational speeches, workshops, conferences, and training sessions, the workplace today is as dysfunctional as ever. Organizations are filled with disengaged, dissatisfied employees who don’t trust their leaders, and those leaders, in turn, face shortened job tenures, career derailments, and dismissals."

Why is this happening? It's simple. The professional development industry has not effectively built habits into the people they serve. They motivate and deliver amazing content. After a great training or coaching session, people feel inspired and often have goals for change. But as Dr. Pfeffer points out, this is not enough. Real and lasting change needs a different approach.

Real, lasting change occurs when one is motivated, knows what actions to take to change, and successfully turns those actions into habits.

The industry is nailing motivation and actions. Now, with our help, they can nail habits too.

The second reason we focus on habits is because habits are the most powerful and least controlled predictor of our behavior. When people struggle with the choices and outcomes in their life, you can often trace the root of their issues back to their repeated habits. And this is true no matter what area they are struggling in--personal health, professional success, relationships, etc, etc. It all comes back to how they consistently and regularly think, feel, and act. It all comes back to their habits.

If we want change--for ourselves or for someone else--the best thing to do is to focus on changing habits.

That is why we as an organization decided to make it our mission to help realize their potential through habit formation.
